Legs Above Your Heart

Adam's tilt raises your legs above heart level, the position Stressless describes as feeling almost weightless.

Power at the Touch of a Button

The remote reclines the chair and raises the footrest; the HOME button brings it back upright. A battery option means no cord to the wall.

Plus System Support

As you recline, the Plus system adjusts the head and lumbar support so your neck and lower back stay supported.

Headrest and Swivel

The headrest adjusts in height, and the chair swivels a full 360 degrees on its wood disc base.

Product Description

Stressless Adam is a power recliner with a tilt that lifts your legs above your heart. The remote attaches to the armrest by magnet and runs each function, and its HOME button brings the chair back upright. The footrest sits out of sight beneath the seat until you extend it, which keeps the chair compact.

Adam comes in one size, 34 inches wide with a 20 inch seat height. The headrest raises the back by a little over 2 inches, and the Plus system adjusts head and lumbar support as you recline. Stressless recommends leaving 24 inches between the chair and the wall.

We list Adam in four Paloma leathers (Fog, Mushroom, Black and New Cognac) with smoked oak or walnut on the arm panels and disc base. Stressless makes those in eight wood finishes, and a rechargeable battery is available, ordered separately; ask us. Adam is made in Norway.

    Dust weekly with a dry cloth. Clean the leather with the Stressless care kit at least every six months and reapply the protection cream after cleaning. Blot spills right away. No household cleaners, solvents or steam. Keep it a foot from heat sources and out of direct sun.

Stressless warranty

Ekornes, the maker of Stressless, warrants this recliner from the date of purchase:

  • 10 years on the internal mechanism: the Plus™ system and the metal frame, including the springs and glide system
  • 5 years on the base and foam: the chair and ottoman base (swivel ring, gas lift and extensions) and all foam and padding
  • 5 years on the motor and electrical parts of power recliners
  • 2 years on optional batteries
  • 1 year on the leather or fabric upholstery, including stitching and zippers, when it has been cared for following Ekornes guidelines

Some softening and indentation of the padding is normal break-in. The warranty covers the original buyer. Ekornes supplies replacement parts and pays their shipping; it does not cover other repair costs.

Not covered: fading, or roughness from heat or sunlight; damage from spills, body fluids or pets; damage from skipped care or from cleaners Ekornes doesn't recommend; and damage from moving, alteration, misuse or unauthorized repair.
