Jess Dining Chair

The Jess dining chair sets vertical slats over a flared frame, a design Canadel calls transitional: between traditional and contemporary. Canadel builds it in solid birch and finishes it by hand with a catalyzed lacquer, which cleans with a damp cloth and mild soap.

It's 18 1/2 inches wide, 22 3/4 deep and 39 1/4 high, with the seat at 18 1/4 inches. Canadel designs and tests its chairs to hold 450 lb.

The chair shown has a wood seat. Canadel also makes the Jess with an upholstered seat in more than 150 fabrics, faux leathers, leathers and velvets, including Crypton and InsideOut performance fabrics, and with arms. We show six wood colours here; Canadel offers more than 35, in a matte or antique finish. Contact our team to order a colour or seat not shown.

If you're choosing stools for an island or counter as well, Canadel makes two to match the Jess. The 7270 counter stool swivels and takes a wood or fabric seat; the 8270 counter stool is shown upholstered and comes on a fixed or swivel base, so it's the one to pick for a stool that doesn't turn.

Canadel, a family company, has built dining furniture in Louiseville, Quebec since 1982.
